Pagnotta linked recent Stanley Cup champion Nazem Kadri, Hearst (Ontario) native Claude Giroux and 2011 fifth overall pick Ryan Strome to the Senators, but adding one of those names won't be cheap.
The Senators are looking to turn the corner in their rebuild and take the next step, with the spot in the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs likely to be their goal. In order to do that, they may need to add a premium free agent and hope that they're goaltending situation figures itself out.
Ottawa currently has $23.25 million in cap space for the 2022-23 season, but still need to get handful of players under contract including Alex Formenton, Josh Norris, Erik Brannstrom, among others.
Free agency is set to open at 12 p.m. ET on Wednesday, July 13th.
