Scorer of Toronto's 1967 Stanley Cup-winning goal Jim Pappin passes away

Some sad news to report on in the hockey world as the Toronto Maple Leafs announced that two-time Stanley Cup champion Jim Pappin has passed away at the age of 82.

Pappin spent parts of fourteen seasons in the National Hockey League with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Chicago Blackhawks, California Golden Seals and the Cleveland Barons. In 767 career games, the Copper Cliff (Ontario) native tallied 573 points (278 goals, 295 assists) and 667 penalty minutes.

During his five years in Toronto, Pappin won the Stanley Cup twice, in 1964 and 1967. In 1967, he scored the Stanley Cup-winning goal, giving the Maple Leafs their thirteenth championship. When Toronto celebrated their centennial in 2017, they named Pappin to the '100 Greatest Leafs' list.
