The last day of the Memorial Cup Round Robin ended with a serious Bang. The Saint John Sea Dogs needed a victory over the Shawinigan Cataractes to advance to the Memorial Cup Final, and after allowing three unanswered in the opening period it looked like they would be packing their bags for the summer. Rarely does a team surrender three goals in the first & emerge triumphant.
Sea Dogs F William DuFour couldn't be bothered with such nonsense & proceeded to score four goals, including the elusive natural hat-trick, to punch Saint John's ticket to the championship. The QMJHL's Player of the Year was glowing in his pre-game interview, absolutely radiating confidence & charisma. "If we win & we go to the final." Well said, William. Each of DuFour's first three goals came in a window of 6:36
