Mikko Koskinen's NHL career was...not great. He sported a 3.01 GAA & .901 SV% over five seasons with the Edmonton Oilers. Former Oilers' GM Peter Chiarelli signed Koskinen to a three-year, $4.5 million/year contract back in 2019. A contract that was a head scratcher then & looks even worse now.
Koskinen signed a new two-year contract with HC Lugano of the Swiss National League:
As for the Oilers...well their problems & the daunting summer ahead are well-known. GM Ken Holland will be tested, both in mettle & decisiveness. After all, the Oilers are not the only team in need of a goalie.
