He may have just taken part in a grueling seven game series, but he should give Finland a major boost at the World Hockey Championship taking place in that country. Just a few hours after Miro Heiskanen's Dallas Stars were eliminated by Calgary in the first round, it was announced Heiskanen was joining his home country for the tournament, which is taking place in Helsinki.

"Heiskanen is a world-class reinforcement for us, it's really great to get him involved," said GM Jere Lehtinen in a release from Team Finland.

Heiskanen, 22, is a former third-overall pick in the NHL entry draft and has been a big addition to the Stars in his short time there. He finished the first-round series against the Flames with a goal and two assists.

Heiskanen joins other familiar names such as Joel Armia, Mikael Granlund, Sami Vatanen, Valtteri Filppula, and others as Finland looks to win gold on home ice. The World Hockey Championship got underway Friday, and ends May 29th.
