Short answer: Absolutely not.

The Capitals' Captain is back in the lineup as of today, and it appears as if he's ready to rock & roll against the NHL's best team, the Florida Panthers.

Ovechkin was injured last week vs. the Maple Leafs, when rookie goaltender Erik Kallgren deployed a sweeping poke check, sending Ovi into the boards awkwardly.

According to ESPN's John Buccigross, Ovechkin has dressed in 97(!!!)% of Capitals' games since he was drafted, and both of his absences this season were due to COVID protocol. You want to talk about reliability; Alex Ovechkin is Мистер (That's Mister in Russian) Reliable.
