CHL Bans Incoming Russian, Belorussian Players From Import Draft
Citing the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the CHL announced today its plans regarding imports from Russia & Belarus:
Players on current rosters will remain unaffected by this decision.
The move is quite controversial. Many believe the move to be frivolous & lacking substance, as it is difficult to draw a conclusion where the move does anything other than keep talented hockey players out of North America. Which is what the Russian Federation wants.
The import draft is scheduled for July 1st.
