The CEO of Hockey Canada, Tom Renney, is set to retire in the coming months after an eight-year tenure at the position.
Hockey Canada and its board of directors announced Wednesday that he would be retiring effective July 1, 2022. Renney released a statement thanking everyone he has worked with and the opportunity to be in such a prestigious position.
"I know the time is right and I am grateful for the past eight years. To our Hockey Canada directors past and present, the volunteers, and our incredible staff, I thank you for your dedication, commitment, and support. The greatest gift this game has given to me is people I have met who have made a positive and lasting impact in my life."
