Ottawa Senators Spoil Vancouver's Hopeful Playoff Run, Former Canuck Scores Game Winner (VIDEO)

The Vancouver Canucks under Bruce Boudreau have been sensational; over a full 82 game season they would probably make the playoffs with room to spare.

However, as fate would have it two separate matches would collectively hammer the final nail into their coffin. While they are still not mathematically eliminated, it is going to be next to impossible for them to make the playoffs.

The Canucks, like the Vegas Golden Knights, sit four points behind the Dallas Stars for the second Wild Card spot; Stars have one game in hand over both with only 6 to go (5 for VAN & VGK).

Speaking of fate, former Canuck Adam Gaudette, now of the Ottawa Senators, scored the game-winning goal in the shootout, effectively crushing Vancouver's chance at a playoff appearance.

It is going to be extremely difficult for either the Canucks or the Vegas Golden Knights to make the playoffs & will require a major stroke of luck as well.
