Boston Bruins Sign College Goalie to Entry-Level Deal

The team announced today it has signed Western Michigan G Brandon Bussi; the deal will send the goalie to their AHL affiliate in Providence for the remainder of the season on an Amateur Tryout basis.

Bussi has an adequate, though not great résumé in NCAA hockey for the WMU Broncos. The right-handed catcher earned a respectable 46-25-5 record with a 2.61 GAA & .910 SV%. This move likely comes as a buy-low depth move to insulate the goaltending position, which is always paramount. However, it's expected that Linus Ullmark & Jeremy Swayman will continue to man the fort for now.
