Jeff Petry isn't the player he used to be. A two-time Norris nominee, Petry was an incredibly valuable member the Montreal Canadiens for the better part of a decade. Now on his fourth team after a one-year stint in Pittsburgh, Petry returned home to Michigan.
He no longer has the speed that separated him from other two-way defenders back in the day, and with Detroit's depth on the blueline, he has now been left to the side.
He will watch next game from the press box, as a healthy scratch - a steep decline from the player who finished 13th in Norris voting just three years ago.
