BREAKING: NHL Suspended Star Bruins Defenseman

The NHL Department of Player Safety has suspended Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy for his hit on Oliver Ekman-Larsson.

McAvoy Suspended For Check To The Head

Last night Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy laid an incredibly dirty hit on Panthers defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson that saw McAvoy get ejected.

Today he had a meeting with the DOPS and his fate has now been confirmed.

Boston's Charlie McAvoy has been suspended for four games for an Illegal Check to the Head on Florida's Oliver Ekman-Larsson.

While it may seem like it is a solid suspension, the hit on Ekman-Larsson makes it arguable that there should have been more games.

The Bruins will now be without McAvoy for a few games and despite their hot start, they will now be without a few key players.
