Fred Arthur is traded to the Philadelphia Flyers with Ray Allison, Don Gillen, 1st round draft pick in 1982 (#4: Ron Sutter) and 3rd round draft pick in 1982 (#46: Miroslav Dvorak). In return, the Hartford Whalers acquired Rick MacLeish, Blake Wesley, 1st round draft pick in 1982 (#14: Paul Lawless), 2nd round draft pick in 1982 (#35: Mark Paterson) and 3rd round draft pick in 1982 (#56: Kevin Dineen).
