The Marcel-Robert trophy is awarded annually to the ice hockey player of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (LHJMQ) who combines the best sports and academic results. It takes its name from Marcel Robert, former president of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League from 1977 to 1981, inducted into the QMJHL Hall of Fame on March 17, 1998. Throughout his involvement in amateur hockey, Marcel Robert initiated and largely contributed to the implementation of measures allowing young hockey players to practice their sport at an elite level while continuing their academic progress.
