Kraken claim defenceman off waivers from Washington
The Seattle Kraken announced on Wednesday that they've claimed defenceman Dennis Cholowski off waivers from the Washington Capitals.
Cholowski, 23, was selected by the Seattle Kraken in the 2021 NHL Expansion Draft last summer. He didn't make an appearance with the club and two days after the season started, he was claimed off waivers by the Capitals.
In seven games this season for Washington, the Langley, British Columbia native had one assist, two penalty minutes and was a minus-four.
Seattle also announced that Cholowski has been assigned to the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League. CapFriendly points out that the Kraken are able to do this because they were the only team to place a claim on him.
