Rumours circulated on social media on Wednesday after Twitter user @VM_BUF_CzSk said that the Buffalo Sabres are bringing back their black 'goat head' jerseys for the 2022-23 season as an alternate.
"Okay. I have been told that this jersey is in official offer list for NHL fan shops for next season. No kidding. Sabres got a new alternate!!! #Goathead #letsgobuffalo I'm really not joking," he said.
According to Icethetics, that rumour is indeed true after he checked with his sources.
"A new throwback third jersey for #LetsGoBuffalo leaked yesterday. Icethetics can now confirm it is coming next season," Icethetics said on Twitter on Thursday afternoon.
"I talked with two very trusted sources, who confirmed this will in fact be the Sabres third jersey next season," Icethetics added.
The original jersey was introduced by the Buffalo Sabres in 1996 and worn until 2006 before they rebranded to navy "buffaslug" uniforms.
