The NHL has announced the postponement of three more games as it attempts to get through an outbreak of COVID-19 among players.

"Three additional games have been postponed for COVID-related reasons," said the league in a release. "Columbus-Chicago on Dec. 28 and Pittsburgh-Toronto and Boston-Ottawa on Dec. 29. All other games currently scheduled, beginning with those on Dec. 28, remain slotted to be played on their scheduled dates."

The NHL and NHLPA have agreed to bring back taxi squads and other temporary modifications in the collective bargaining agreement to try and put a stop to further postponements. That said, former referee Tim Peel wonders if there will be enough officials available for upcoming games.

"There is a big problem that no one is talking about. With at least 15 NHL Officials having COVID, how is the NHL going to have enough officials for the upcoming games," said Peel.

How the league plans to deal with this isn't exactly clear right now.
