The NHL's Department of Player Safety has decided that Tucker Poolman of the Vancouver Canucks will sit for his decision to swing his stick at the head of Kiefer Sherwood of the Colorado Avalanche Thursday night. About half-way through the third period, Sherwood checked Poolman along the boards. Poolman then reacts to the hit by turning his body and swinging his stick, making contact with Sherwood's head. Poolman was ejected from the game.

DoPS has suspended Poolman for two games for his actions. You can view the department's full decision in the video below. This is Poolman's first suspension and/or fine in the NHL.
