Uniformed officers and their dogs gathered on the Philadelphia Flyers' center ice logo, and the internet did exactly what you'd expect with it.

The post from General Soreness piled up 368K views within 12 hours, with a caption that didn't need much explaining: "What a great logo. FOR ME TO POOP ON!"

In the photo, three officers stand around the logo with dogs on leashes, while a man in a white practice jersey and hockey pants kneels to greet one of them.

The boards behind them carry Independence, PIW and Rivers Casino Philadelphia signage, so there's no mystery about whose ice this is.

What brought the dogs out there wasn't explained in the post. That leaves the dogs as the whole story, which is probably for the best.

The dogs looked more composed on that logo than the Flyers did on Wednesday night.

It's the family dog getting the best seat on the couch the morning after a rough night. Nobody argues, because the dog earned it.

Dog photo adds insult to Flyers' brutal 7-0 defeat

The Flyers opened their season Wednesday with a 7-0 loss to Pittsburgh, in their own building.

Did anyone in orange have a good night? Jamie Drysdale and Noel Acciari each went minus-3.

On the other side, Nicholas Robertson scored twice for the Penguins, including the winner.

Filip Hallander added three points in just under 11 minutes of ice time, and Sidney Crosby chipped in an assist.

Arturs Silovs needed only 19 saves for the shutout, while Daniel Vladar faced 38 shots at the other end.

Rick Tocchet's group had no time to sit with it. The Flyers turned around and played in New Jersey the very next night, as the Devils opened their season.

Carolina visits Philadelphia on Saturday, which gives Daniel Briere's club its next chance to change the conversation at home.

The ice gets resurfaced every night. How long it takes the Flyers to give fans something better to talk about than a dog caption is a different question.
