The Boston Bruins are trying to find a new home for Henri Jokiharju, and he has already cleared waivers.
Elliotte Friedman reported it on Sportsnet Tuesday, the same day the Bruins open their season.
That leaves Don Sweeney selling a player the whole league just passed on. Every one of the other 31 teams could have claimed him.
It's like listing a couch on Marketplace after it sat on the curb all weekend with a FREE sign taped to it.
The price tag doesn't help. Jokiharju carries a $3,000,000 cap hit through 2027-28, with unrestricted free agency waiting at the end of it.
Who bites now? Sweeney's asking price had better be modest, because the market already gave its answer once.
The right-shot defenseman brings 448 NHL games and 112 points to whatever table he lands at.

Most of that résumé was built in Buffalo, where he played 351 games across six seasons.
His best year came in 2023-24, when he put up 20 points and finished with a +14 rating.
The lean years were just as real, including a -12 finish in 2022-23.
Boston got a smaller sample. Last season he posted 15 points in 41 games for the Bruins.
His postseason experience amounts to two games, both in a Bruins sweater.
Chicago drafted him 29th overall in 2017, and he followed it with 71 points in his final junior season in Portland.
He also wore Finland's colors at the 2025 Four Nations Faceoff, scoring once in three games.
Sturm's group went 2-1-1 in exhibition play and dropped a 3-2 overtime decision in Washington last Friday.
The Rangers are in town tonight, and they spent part of their own Tuesday putting Vincent Iorio on waivers.
After that, the Bruins head out for a Friday-Saturday back-to-back in Winnipeg and Minnesota.
Until Sweeney finds a taker, Jokiharju sits in the Boston room with one foot out the door. The longer that drags into October, the less leverage the Bruins have at the table.
