Connor McDavid needs just six games to reach 800 for his career, and he's not even the Oiler with the most milestones lined up this season.
Edmonton's veteran core enters 2026-27 sitting on the doorstep of several major round numbers, and the league's new 84-game schedule gives all of them extra runway to get there.
McDavid enters his 12th season with 794 games and 1,220 points, meaning his sixth appearance clears 800 games before October is even half over.
Reaching 1,300 points is the tougher ask, requiring 80 more points. He posted 48 goals and 138 points last season on his way to a sixth Art Ross Trophy, a pace that puts 1,300 well within reach around the 48-game mark if he stays healthy.
His per-game scoring rate through 794 career games sits at an absurd 1.54 points, a number that makes every one of these milestones carry real historical weight given how much he's produced without missing significant chunks of time.
Draisaitl could hit three milestones in one season
Leon Draisaitl has an even busier milestone chase ahead. He enters this season with 855 games, 434 goals, and 1,053 points, putting 900 games, 450 goals, and 1,100 points all realistically in play.
The goals milestone should come fastest. He needs just 16, and his injury-shortened 65-game season last year still produced 35 goals, a pace that clears 450 in roughly 30 appearances.
That would make him just the third player in franchise history to reach 450 goals, trailing only Wayne Gretzky's 583 and Jari Kurri's 474, with Kurri's total suddenly looking reachable too.
The 1,100 point mark needs 47 more points, and last season's 97-point pace in 65 games would get him there around his 32nd game.
Games played will take longer. He needs 45 appearances to hit 900, likely landing somewhere around the midpoint of the season if he avoids another extended injury absence.
Zach Hyman has the shortest wait of anyone in this group, needing just 6 points to reach 500 for his career.
His path there looks nothing like McDavid's or Draisaitl's. Hyman didn't become a real offensive threat until his late 20s, but he's scored at least 27 goals in every season with Edmonton, including a 54-goal outburst in 2023-24.
He posted 31 goals and 52 points in just 58 games last year, meaning 6 points could realistically arrive within his first 7 or 8 games of the season.
Evan Bouchard rounds out the group, sitting just 17 points from 350 for his career after an explosive 21-goal, 95-point season that earned him Second Team All-Star honors.
He's accumulated 333 points in 429 career games, with 177 of those points coming in just the last two seasons alone, a genuinely steep offensive climb for a defenseman.
At his current scoring rate, Bouchard could reach 350 in under 15 games, and if he stays anywhere near this level, 400 career points becomes a realistic target before this season even ends.
None of these milestones replace the Stanley Cup Edmonton's actually chasing after three straight seasons of playoff disappointment. But they're a real marker of just how much this core has produced together, and how much more history all four players still have left to write this season.
