Alexander Zharovsky is already entering Martin St-Louis' orbit after spending part of his summer alongside several Montreal Canadiens regulars.
The organization released an update highlighting Zharovsky's participation in the Living Sisu summer league, where the Russian prospect faced established professional players in a three-on-three format.
Zachary Bolduc, Alexandre Carrier, Ivan Demidov, Jake Evans and Jayden Struble were among the Canadiens players who shared the ice with him during the event.
The competition supported pancreatic cancer research, but it also gave Zharovsky an early look at the pace, execution and expectations surrounding NHL players.
For a prospect who'll continue his development in Russia, those summer reps carry real value. He wasn't watching from the stands. He was handling the puck against players already established inside Montreal's locker room.
The footage showed Zharovsky attacking open space, moving the puck quickly and staying involved during fast sequences built around skill and instant reads.

Ivan Demidov gives Zharovsky an early connection
The most interesting part of Zharovsky's Montreal visit may be his growing relationship with Ivan Demidov. The two Russian forwards have known each other for years and appeared comfortable together throughout the event.
That connection matters. Demidov understands the adjustment facing a young Russian player entering the Canadiens' environment, from communication to expectations around the rink.
Having a familiar teammate nearby can make Zharovsky's eventual transition less complicated. It also gives him someone who can explain how Montreal operates before he competes for an NHL job.
The three-on-three format played directly into Zharovsky's strengths. Open ice gave him room to carry the puck, change direction and create rather than simply chase plays along the boards.
Montreal isn't rushing the process. Zharovsky is expected to return to the KHL, where he can keep facing professionals and receive meaningful offensive deployment.
But this summer gave the Canadiens more than a quick look at his hands. It allowed Zharovsky to build relationships with players who could eventually become his teammates.
He won't be part of St-Louis' lineup immediately. Still, his comfort around Demidov and Montreal's regulars offers an encouraging sign about where the organization's top prospect is heading.
