John Tortorella finally broke his silence on his future with the Vegas Golden Knights

And the Final was a war. The officiating grievances, from the disallowed Barbashev goal to the Hertl call. The William Karlsson injury. A cold finish from Mitch Marner. Tortorella navigated all of it to a Game 6 with the Cup in reach.

Given that run, you'd think Vegas wants him back, and you'd think he'd want to finish the job he nearly pulled off.

Here's my read: "I need to digest this" is a coach who just had his heart ripped out, not necessarily one heading for the exit. Don't confuse grief with a decision.

Coaches say a lot of raw things in the minutes after a loss like this. Most of it shouldn't be taken as a final word.

Still, the question is now live. Does Tortorella return to chase what slipped away, or does this loss change his thinking?
