After being almost completely silent for the first week of training camp, the Vancouver Canucks are reportedly nearing agreements to contract extensions with forward Elias Pettersson and defenseman Quinn Hughes.
Quinn Hughes will reportedly be making slightly above $7.75 million per season for 6 years, and Pettersson will also be around the same AAV with what could be around $7.7 million for 3 years when both the deals are done. These two deals seem like they would be great for the team, as both players could surely go after more money after seeing Kirill Kaprizov sign a 5-year, $45 million deal recently. Although neither are finalized, the contracts will likely be announced soon with the exact numbers.

The Canucks still have five preseason games left before their regular season kicks off on October 13. Meanwhile, Pettersson and Hughes have been preparing for the season together in Michigan.
