Late on Sunday night, the Vegas Golden Knights announced that they've re-signed restricted free agent forward Nolan Patrick to a two-year contract worth $2.4 million ($1.2 million).
Patrick, 23, was drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers back in 2017 with the second overall pick. He dealt with multiple injuries during his time with the Flyers, including a migraine disorder, which caused him to miss the entire 2019-20 season.
After the 2020-21 season, Philadelphia decided to move on from Patrick, sending him to the Vegas Golden Knights in a three-team trade that involved the Nashville Predators.
For Vegas, they finally have the first or second line centerman they've been waiting for. For Patrick, it's a fresh start in a new city and an opportunity to play big minutes.
In 54 games this season, Patrick had nine points (4 G, 5 A), 20 penalty minutes, and was a -30.
Closing out his birthday with a new contract!!! 🥳
