The Columbus Blue Jackets announced on Wednesday that they have come to terms on a three-year entry-level contract with 2021 1st-round pick Cole Sillinger.

The 2020-21 USHL Rookie of the Year was born in Columbus, Ohio back when his father, Mike Sillinger, played for the Blue Jackets from 2001-03

Sillinger tallied 24 goals last season for the Sioux Falls Stampede, adding 22 assists for 46 points in just 31 games last season.

The 18-year-old played 52 games for the Medicine Hat Tigers from 2018-20, racking up 55 points over that span.

Sillinger was selected with the pick (12th-overall) that Columbus acquired in the Seth Jones trade.

The young center ranked 23rd on The Athletic's Top 50 prospects list.
