Hockey coach in hot water after video shows him hitting young player on the bench
The Ice Hockey Federation of Belarus says it is investigating an incident where the coach of a youth hockey team of boys born in 2008 hit one of his own players three or four times after he returned to the bench. It's not exactly clear why the coach, who's name is Artem Goranin, was enraged with the boy. Here's the video in question. Keep a close eye on the upper left part of the video. It zooms in on the coach and the boy after he delivers the hits.
"The Ice Hockey Federation of Belarus has carefully studied the videos with the participation of the coach and hockey player of the Shakhtar children's team born in 2008," said the Belarus Hockey Federation in a statement. "The FHB considers it a priority task to work with coaches to build an effective training program for hockey players, taking into account the current methods of physical and psychological education of players. We closely monitor the activities of hockey schools in Belarus and its compliance with the adopted regulations.
"The FHB Disciplinary Committee is currently reviewing the incident. A decision will be announced later."
