There's nothing like seeing a successful hockey player give back to his community. Ethan Bear, who was recently traded from the Edmonton Oilers to the Carolina Hurricanes, made a terrific gesture to an aspiring young hockey player recently, going with him to buy all new equipment and paying for every bit of it.

The boy's mother made a public post on Facebook thanking Bear and noting that his kindness doesn't go unnoticed. Check it out:

There's no word on where, exactly, this took place. Bear, who is of Cree decent, grew up on the Ochapowace Nation, not far from Regina, Saskatchewan, so we're assuming it was somewhere near there. Bear has been open and proud of his Indigenous roots. It's also been reported that he runs a youth hockey camp in Ochapowace during the summers. Way to go, Ethan!
