More Fuel Added to the Seth Jones Trade Fire After Comments Last Night
After another tough loss for the Chicago Blackhawks last night, veteran defenseman Seth Jones had some harsh words about his team, adding fuel to trade rumors.
Seth Jones has been a key piece of the Chicago Blackhawks' defensive unit for the past four years, and he has never made it to the playoffs since. The organization might be rebuilding, but after four years, you expect to see some progress on the ice.
Even though the team is better on paper than it was, they are still struggling immensely. They currently sit at the eighth spot in the Central Division with a mere tally of 41 points after 58 games.
Last night, the Blackhawks suffered a tough 2-1 loss against the Utah Hockey Club. Jones scored his team's only goal of the game and spent over 25 minutes on the ice.
After the game, Jones shared insights on his mindset, which fueled the trade rumors surrounding him.
He showed dissatisfaction about his team's development, saying he doesn't think they're a better team than they were in the first game of the season.

Only a few days ago, Jones revealed in an interview that he would like the idea of playing alongside Zach Werenski once again, with the Columbus Blue Jackets.
This season, Jones scored 27 points, including seven goals, in 41 games.
With just over a week to go until the NHL trade deadline, it'll be interesting to see if other teams make offers for Jones, despite his $9,500,000 AAV contract with five seasons left on it.
