Jacob Markstrom's Replacement at the Four Nations Faceoff Leaked by Insider

An insider leaked Jacob Markstrom's replacement at the upcoming NHL Four Nations Faceoff after the New Jersey Devils goaltender got injured in a game.

The NHL Four Nations Faceoff is set to go down in a few weeks, with fans from all over the world eager to finally have an opportunity to watch some best-on-best action with players from the National Hockey League.

Indeed, Canada, the United States, Sweden, and Finland will send their best players on the ice in Montreal and Boston on February 12th to compete for their honor.

Many players have waited a long time for this, but unfortunately, one of them won't be able to compete at the event due to an injury.

In a disappointing turn of events, the Swedish goaltender Jacob Markstrom will miss four to six weeks after a dangerous collision with Boston Bruins' Justin Brazeau forced him to leave a game earlier this week.

While the Devils will be able to count on former Montreal Canadiens goaltender Jake Allen during Markstrom's recovery, the question about who would replace him at the 4 Nations Faceoff worried many fans.

In breaking news, the insider Cam Robinson revealed in a post on X that the Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Samuel Ersson should get the nod for the tournament:

Ersson, drafted 143rd overall by the Philadelphia Flyers in 2018, took part in 89 NHL games in Philly. He has a 2.85 GAA and a .892 save percentage in his career, marking a significant drop from Markstrom's great numbers.

This season, Ersson won 14 games in 26 starts and has a .891 SV%.

Fortunately for Swedish fans, the country will be able to rely on two other great goalies Linus Ullmark and Filip Gustavsson, who have both been great this season with the Ottawa Senators and the Minnesota Wild.
