Jets blue liner Colin Miller suffered an incredibly scary injury recently, and now he's opened up about the terrifying throat injury after being cut by a skate.

The Winnipeg Jets have been rolling as of late despite dealing with some injuries, and now, it appears as though defenseman Colin Miller is preparing to give this blue line a major boost upon his return.

The 34-year old has played in 34 games with the Jets this season, but has missed the past five games after a brutal injury against the Detroit Red Wings where he was cut on the throat by a skate, leading to a very scary situation.

Thankfully, it appears he's back and ready to go now, and ahead of his return to Winnipeg's lineup, he's addressed the injury that could have ultimately been much, much worse than it ended up being.

«Sometimes there are little things that you're not so used to. It was a little scary there. But it was really all good 15 minutes after. My breath was taken away for a little bit. But it came back pretty quick.»

While some injuries cause players to be off the ice and off their skates for long enough that recovery takes much longer than expected when they get back with the team, but thankfully for Miller, he was able to stay conditioned during his time away.

«I was fortunate that I was able to get right back into skating and all that stuff. Had to be a little bit careful with the contact. But was able to stay conditioned so that's great.»

After the tragedy in the United Kingdom, seeing a skate make contact with anyone's throat is incredibly scary, so thankfully Miller is back to 100% and appears to be in good spirits ahead of his return, but if this keeps happening, it's safe to say that the NHL may look into making neck protection mandatory.
