William Nylander has found himself under fire after he refused to take accountability after the Toronto Maple Leafs were booed off the ice for a second straight game.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have consistently found themselves toward the top of the Atlantic Division, holding a solid spot in the rankings to make it into the next Stanley Cup playoffs.

However, they have recently found themselves in a slump, starting their three-loss streak against the Carolina Hurricanes on January 9th, falling short 3-6.

Only two days later, they found themselves on the losing end of a 3-0 shutout against the Vancouver Canucks, which earned them boos from their own fans.

After losing their Wednesday night game 4-1 against the Dallas Stars, the Maple Leafs were booed out by Toronto fans again.

However, despite already being under heavy pressure from their fan base, one Leafs forward put himself straight into the media fire.

While many players may understand and relate to the fans' frustrations, William Nylander disregarded the response entirely, stating he that he knows the Leafs are a good team.

"It doesn't really matter if they boo, I mean, we know we're a good team, so yeah."

Nylander's lackadaisical attitude was made even clearer when asked about the losing streak directly, shrugging off Toronto's recent dip.

"I think all good teams need to go through some stretch where everything's not clicking and everything like that, so yeah. I mean, good teams find their way out of this, and I mean it's only been three games, so, what's the big deal? Really?"

With three straight losses to teams close to them in the rankings, Nylander's response seems far too nonchalant for Cup-hungry Toronto fans.

The Maple Leafs will face the New Jersey Devils and Montreal Canadiens later this week, who are ahead or trending upward respectively within the standings.

Hopefully for Toronto fans, Nylander's blase attitude in his recent interview will be left far away from the ice.
