The Player Who Bit Brady Tkachuk's Hand Officially Leaves the NHL

Brendan Lemieux, a player infamous for an incident involving Brady Tkachuk of the Ottawa Senators, has officially left the NHL to sign a deal in Europe

He will go down in the history books as one of the dirtiest players of the modern era in the NHL. Now, he has officially left the league to sign elsewhere.

Brendan Lemieux was recently placed on waivers by the Carolina Hurricanes for the purpose of terminating his contract.

The wait for his next move did not take long, as Brendan Lemieux has signed a deal for this season and the next two with HC Davos of the Swiss National League.

Lemieux was suspended for five games in 2021 after biting Brady Tkachuk of the Ottawa Senators.

He later defended himself saying his eyes were being gouged and he had to react.

Lemieux's hold on an NHL roster spot has been tenuous for a while, and it appears he decided he wanted something much more stable.

HC Davos has been a popular destination for former NHLers for several years. There's no word on what Lemieux will be played or whether he has an out clause should an NHL team become interested in signing him.

Lemieux's style is more suited to a fourth-line grinder and agitatir type role in the NHL. He may be able to flex his offensive muscles a bit more in Switzerland.

Before Lemieux, the last player to be placed on waivers for the purpose of contract termination by the Carolina Hurricanes was , who left the NHL to return home to Russia.
