Two former NHLers call out Noel Acciari of the Pittsburgh Penguins for a hit on Juraj Slafkovsky of the Montreal Canadiens near the end of their Saturday night game.

It's another round of is it a hit that deserves punishment from the NHL Department of Player Safety, or isn't it. At least two former NHLers seems to think Noel Acciari of the Pittsburgh Penguins should receive supplemental discipline following a late-game hit on Juraj Slafkovsky of the Montreal Canadiens, with one of them labelling it "dirty."

Things got heated after the final buzzer of the Pittsburgh Penguins-Montreal Canadiens game last night, all because of the late game hit by Noel Acciari. There was little time left in the game anyway, but Juraj Slafkovsky left, throwing his helmet in the process.

As the Hockey Night in Canada panel discussed the hit, former NHLer Kevin Bieksa said there should have been a call on the play, and Noel Acciari of the Pittsburgh Penguins should be facing a fine or suspension.

"In hockey that's a dirty hit. We all know what's happening, two guys are racing for the puck, they are both reaching, and the guy who is supposed to get the puck first just leaves it and hits the guy. That is a bit of a dirty hit."

Meanwhile, fellow former NHLer Luke Gazdic was a bit more reserved on his assessment, but still felt the hit was questionable.

"It's a reverse hit from Acciari and you'll see he kind of gets his arm/elbow up. I don't like it from that angle."

The Montreal Canadiens' Arber Xhekaj, who has been the subject of some trade talk recently, once again attempted to avenge a teammate he felt was wronged, which also brought a ton of discussion on social media. Kevin Bieksa said he believes Xhekaj did exactly what was expected of him, and the hit needed to be avenged whether it was dirty or not. Xhekaj was booted from a preseason game against the Ottawa Senators after a hit on .
