Viral scene for Italian Olympics volleyball star Valentina Gottardi
Italian volleyball star Valentina Gottardi is only 21 years old, and she has now gone viral online after images began to surface of her at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The 2024 Paris Olympics has had its fair share of viral moments and wild events, dominating the sporting world since it began. Unfortunately, a lot of the attention surrounding the Olympics has been negative due to several controversies. Many criticized the opening ceremony of the Games for being anti-Christian, and conspiracy theorists have continued to blast rumors online about boxer Imane Khelif. Her Italian opponent was Angela Carini, and Angela ended up forfeiting the match in under a minute, which led to Khelif facing tons of hate, where she had to end up setting the record straight on her gender.
There is good news though, as the Paris Olympics entered the news world for a more positive reason this past weekend. 21-year-old Italian volleyball star Valentina Gottardi has gone viral on Instagram for photos that are circulating which display her representation of Italy. Valentina managed to gain 17,500 new followers from the moment her match started against the US team, until it ended. That's a lot of followers in such a short amount of time.

Within 12 hours from the end of that match against the US, Valentina has now gotten 71,000 followers, and it is still growing. Unfortunately, Italy has been eliminated from the tournament after they lost to the American team, which sent the US to the quarterfinals. Despite the fact she could not pull out the victory, Valentina Gottardi can rest easy knowing that she has enough fans to last forever.
