The Vancouver Canucks and Toronto Maple Leafs have officially completed a trade made back in 2022 involving Sam Lafferty.

When the Toronto Maple Leafs traded forward Sam Lafferty to the Vancouver Canucks, they received a fifth round pick in 2024 in return. That fifth round pick was just used,

With that in mind, scouting reports have started pouring out for Timofei Obvintsev:

There certainly seems to be a lot of upside here with Timofei Obvintsev, and considering that the Vancouver Canucks no longer have Sam Lafferty, it appears the Toronto Maple Leafs have come ahead in this minor deal. Maybe Timofei Obvintsev is the starter of the future in Toronto!
