Nazem Kadri reportedly on the verge of being traded by Calgary Flames

As trade rumors continue to heat up this Summer, former 7th-overall NHL draft pick Nazem Kadri is reportedly on the verge of being traded by the Calgary Flames.

Nazem Kadri had a long stint with the Toronto Maple Leafs. After being drafted by the team 7th overall in the 2009 NHL draft, he played with them for 10 years before being traded to the Colorado Avalanche.

After his bitter trade from his original NHL team, Kadri went on to win the Stanley Cup with the Avs in 2022. He became the first NHL player to bring Lord Stanley into a mosque, making a huge moment for Muslim hockey layers and fans everywhere.

Despite his clear success in that year's playoffs, he was traded over to the Calgary Flames after turning them down in 2019.

This match was not made in heaven, however. After two years in Calgary, NHL Insider David Pagnotta shared that the Flames have placed Kadri up for a trade.

Fortunately for the player, it looks like he may be on a great return to his first NHL home. According to Kadri's bio on Instagram, he could be back on the roster for the Toronto Maple Leafs.

With no trade finalized, it could be some time before these rumors are confirmed or denied. However, with the player hinting at a return himself, Nazem Kadri could be looking at an 11th year with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
