Oilers forward Evander Kane participated in practice today, but he still appears to be questionable for game six of the Stanley Cup finals tomorrow.

The Oilers are hoping to join the Toronto Maple Leafs as the only teams to ever pull off a reverse sweep in the Stanley Cup finals after the Panthers won the first three games of the series. They have been without Kane since game three, but have gone 2-1 in that stretch. Now the power forward appears to be making progress towards returning to the lineup, but he still seems like a long shot to play tomorrow night.

Kane was practicing with the extra forwards on the 'fifth' line at practice this morning alongside Sam Gagner and Sam Carrick. Carrick last played in game two if the finals while Gagner hasn't played in a single playoffs game on this run. As such, it seems like Kane will have to wait for a possible game seven for his next chance to come back into the lineup.

He appears to be skating on the fifth line with Gagner & Carrick.

Will get an update from Kris Knoblauch this morning. #Oilers

Head coach Kris Knoblauch was tight lipped about Kane's situation after practice. When asked if he would be available for the contest, he gave a non-answer.

Kris Knoblauch on Evander Kane's status for Game 6: «We have possibilities.»

All of this seems to point in the direction that Kane will not play, but he will likely be a game-time decision regardless. Be sure to tune in tomorrow night to see of the veteran winger will make his return to the lineup for the Oilers.
