During Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals chaos broke out after a big hit by Dmitry Kulikov on Oilers Sam Carrick that led to a retaliatory slash by Sam Carrick in a place no one wants to be slashed.

The Florida Panthers were looking to bring the same intensity from Game 1 into Game 2 to take control of the Stanley Cup Finals. As part of that mission defenseman Dmitry Kulikov laid a massive hit on Sam Carrick. Just moments later Sam Carrick would get back at Dmitry Kulikov by slashing him between the legs.

The two players would eventually be broken up and penalties would be handed out. Dmitry Kulikov would not be assessed a penalty while Sam Carrick would get a two-minute penalty for slashing and 10-minute misconduct for unsportsmanlike conduct as well. The Panthers would go on to close out the game winning by a score of 4-1.
The series will now head to Edmonton with the Oilers desperately needing a win to stay in the series. If they fall again it could signal the beginning of the end of the Stanley Cup dreams in 2024.
UPDATE
Edmonton's Sam Carrick has been fined $2,213.54, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for slashing Florida's Dmitry Kulikov.
