Three teams were linked to the Calgary Flames' goaltender Jacob Markstrom on the trade market, including the Toronto Maple Leafs.

In recent years, the Flames' number one goalie has often found himself in trade rumors. However, his no-movement clause complicates things. He dictates his fate, but according to a new report, it suggests it could finally happen this summer.

Since the regular season ended, many teams have shown interest in acquiring a number one goalie, and among those, Elliotte Friedman thinks "there's definitely something going on" with the New Jersey Devils, but the Toronto Maple Leafs and Ottawa Senators are also in the running:

"32 Thoughts Podcast: Elliotte says 'there's definitely something going on' between Calgary and New Jersey on Markstrom. Calgary is trying to keep things quiet. Elliotte goes on to mention Toronto and Ottawa as also interested."

If the Flames decide to finally trade him, and the goalie agrees to lift his no-move clause, he could be a part of a team's short-term solution. He has two seasons left on his $6 million AAV deal and could be a key addition for any team looking to make a deep playoff run.

In Toronto, the Leafs must see that their two young goaltenders, Joseph Woll and Dennis Hildeby, could benefit from Markstrom's experience if they acquired him. However, there are plenty of other areas that need attention in the organization, and making Markstrom a priority could be a big risk.
