Life-changing news has just been announced for Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly and his wife Tessa Virtue: the couple is officially expecting their first child.

Morgan Rielly of the Maple Leafs and his wife, Olympic gold-medalist ice dancer Tessa Virtue, have stunned Canadian sports fans over the last year. After quietly announcing their engagement early last year, the couple held two secret weddings.

Now, the two have even bigger news, as Virtue shared her collection of photographs from the couple's recent vacation on Instagram. Among these were two pictures featuring her baby bump, confirming the newlyweds will welcome their first child.

With so little spotlight on the retired ice dancer, it is no surprise that she and Rielly were met with thunderous congratulations from fans and competitors alike. Though

Neither Virtue nor Rielly shared their child's due date or expected gender. However, many fans of the Toronto defenseman expect the kid to become a major skater. Though we can never be certain, the child will certainly have the right parents to learn from. No matter the outcome, these two are definitely worth congratulating.
