Yesterday, a brand new hockey league called Major League Hockey was announced. The League will reportedly be open to women as well, but there are lots of questions surrounding the league.
The league will reportedly have 14-player rosters, including two goaltenders and 12 skaters. Up to three players with pro experience will be allowed per team, with the rest of the players coming from NCAA, Major Junior, and other similar leagues. Teams will also be allowed to sign women, provided that they feel they can contribute to the team.
Here's what we know about Major League Hockey, otherwise known as the MLH, which is North America's next 3v3 professional hockey league backed by Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦
News of this new league broke last night when a couple of sources revealed the first details of Major League Hockey. However, many of these sources have since rescinded their stories after it came out that the league will reportedly be backed by Saudi Arabia.
Yesterday, I posted a video reporting on a new 3-on-3 hockey league in North America.
Today, I have received several concerning reports that raised doubts about several of the facts contained in the report and have decided to delete the report on all platforms.
As a result, the future of this league that hasn't even been officially created yet is already in doubt. Many fans believe that nothing will come from this at all. It might be a bad look to those sources that reported this news without doing their own homework first.
I deleted any tweet discussing Major League Hockey because the primary source talking about it pulled everything.
Feels better to be safe here and just wait and see what happens.
I just want hockey back, though.
Hopefully we still get a new league for fans to enjoy. Perhaps this could be a way for women to break into professional hockey as well. However, we will just have to wait and see what happens.
