Everyone was expecting Marc-Andre Fleury to retire after this season, as all signs pointed to him ending his illustrious NHL career. However, a few comments a the end of the year seemed to point in another direction, as he indicated he might come back if the cards lined up for him to return to Minnesota.
Well, it appears the Wild got the message, and acted quickly, as it has been reported that they have inked Fleury to a 1-year extension.
Fleury is poised to become a Hall-of-Famer once he retires, and playing another season will give him an opportunity to pass some of the NHL's greats in games played.
The 1-year deal does indicate that he is likely to consider this his final year in the NHL, however, I guess you never know.
