Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman acquired at the trade deadline Joel Edmundson isn't expected to suit up in their matchup tonight versus the Detroit Red Wings. The reported injury is undisclosed as it was reported he "tweaked something"

Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe has just revealed that defenseman Joel Edmundson will be out of the lineup tonight as something has popped up for him. This undisclosed injury is terrible news for Leaf fans, as Edmundson missed time previously with an injury. Edmundson, is known for his troubled injury past with both the Montreal Canadiens and the Washington Capitals.

Sheldon Keefe says Max Domi is in tonight.

Joel Edmundson is out. «Something popped up.»

Timothy Liljegren is in

The Maple Leafs will be counting on Joel Edmundson to be healthy for their upcoming playoff run as they are expected to face the husky Florida Panthers in round one, a rematch of last year's second round where the Panthers won 4-1 in the series. Edmundson was acquired for the very reason of his playoff experience, therefore any sort of long term injury would seriously hurt the Leafs.

Timothy Liljegren will have an opportunity with Edmundson's absence to try and show Sheldon Keefe and the Leafs that he can step up to the opportunity in front of him.
