In breaking news today, it has been announced that Bowen Byram is stepping away from the Buffalo Sabres and the NHL for personal reasons.

The Buffalo Sabres are set to take on the Washington Capitals tonight. While the Sabres are officially eliminated from the playoffs, the Capitals are in the hunt to get into the playoffs if they can get a win.

Despite these implications, it has been announced that Bowen Byram will miss tonight's game due to personal reasons. There has been no explanation as to what those reasons are.

Byram was traded from the Colorado Avalanche earlier this season and has 3 goals and 4 assists for 7 points in his 16 games so far for the Sabres. Barring missing any other games, Byram will have just two games remaining before the season comes to a close.

More details to follow if they are released.
