Nico Hischier bloodied after taking a P.K. Subban slapshot to the face (w/)
A scary moment with less than 5 minutes remaining in the Capitals-Devils game on Saturday afternoon as Devils center Nico Hischier took a hard P.K. Subban slapshot to the face in front of the Caps net.
Hischier was bloodied on the play, but the good news is that he was able to make it to his feet and skate off under his own power after being looked after by the trainer.
As is shown in the video above, Subban's shot was deflected by Washington forward Nic Dowd, breaking his stick en route to the face of Hischier.
There has been no announcement yet as to what the extent of Hischier's injury is, but hopefully he's alright and can avoid missing time after only recently returning to the Devils' lineup after a lengthy layoff.
