It looks like the Pittsburgh Penguins will miss the playoffs once again this year. After a busy off-season, where Kyle Dubas got Erik Karlsson, this isn't what fans and management thought would happen. Karlsson isn't bad, but couldn't lift the Penguins to another level.

This led to many trade rumors ahead of the deadline. In a new interview, Karlsson opened up about those rumors and made a major declaration.

One of the main stories around Karlsson was the possible reunion with the Ottawa Senators.

Karlsson talked about that rumor in an interview. Here's what he said:

Indeed, Canadian fans are passionate and many people enjoy imagining different scenarios. Considering where the Penguins are headed, Karlsson's contract and age, as well as what he could bring to Pittsburgh in a trade, it's easy to see how he could move.

However, it was confirmed that he wasn't involved in any trade talks, and he'll likely spend the rest of his contract with the Penguins.
