On December 18th 2023 the Ottawa Senators fired their Head Coach, DJ Smith after a rough start to their year. Now in February 2024 DJ Smith might have a new NHL job.

Friedman Reveales Where DJ Smith's Next NHL Job Is

The Los Angelos Kings fired their Head Coach Todd McLellan on the third of February and Jim Hiller has taken the interim Head Coach role in LA.

According to NHL insider Elliotte Friedman DJ Smith has been hired by the LA Kings to work alongside of Jim Miller.

Hearing DJ Smith is joining the LA Kings as the outside assistant GM Rob Blake referenced today. He and Jim Hiller worked together in TOR

With Smith joining the Kings as an assistant coach it looks like Hiller will be the Head Coach of the Kings until the end of the year.

Smith finished with a coaching record of 131-154-32 with the Ottawa Senators.
