REPORT: Corey Perry in Deep Talks With Canadian Contender

A new report has just surfaced that Corey Perry and this Canadian Contender have a mutual interest in a potential signing after it was determined Perry could return to the NHL.

The NHL dropped massive news yesterday when it announced that Corey Perry was eligible for a return to the League this year. This was determined following an interview with Perry about the incident that caused his termination with the Chicago Blackhawks.

Now, former Leaf Carlo Colaiacovo has reported that there is a mutual interest between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Corey Perry.

This would be a massive signing, and it is hard to get a true understanding of if it could even work. Would Perry still be valued at a similar price to his previous contract in Chicago, or would his baggage reduce the cost? Do the Leafs have the room to make an offer?

The bigger question that arises from this is whether or not Perry would want to sign a deal to play in the biggest and most scrutinized market in the NHL. He has been pretty quiet on what happened and laid pretty low since the termination, something he would not be able to do if he were to play in Toronto.

We will see if Perry decides to play again in the NHL this season, and which team decides to take a shot on him.
