Jack Hughes has been off to an amazing start to the 2023-24 season in New Jersey, but unfortunately, it appears as though the injury bug has struck once more for the young star.

Jack Hughes to miss a matter of weeks for New Jersey

The latest update on Hughes is both a positive and a negative, as it has been confirmed he will miss some time, but according to Lindy Ruff, it's supposed to be 'a matter of weeks, not months', meaning it could have been much, much worse.

Jack Hughes' absence is considered a matter of weeks, not months, says #NJDevils Lindy Ruff.

The team is aware he will miss some time and Jack will be evaluated week to week to see how he progresses.

Hughes suffered an upper-body injury in the 4-2 win over the Chicago Blackhawks that also saw star Connor Bedard taken out, and with the Devils finally picking up some huge momentum, it appears as though they'll be without their top star for a little while going forward.
